Energy is the basis of human society's existence and development. As the market continues to speed up, domestic coal production enterprises, especially large state-owned coal enterprises, is undergoing significant and profound changes in internal and external environment. According to the enterprises life cycle theory ,most of the domestic large coal enterprises have enterd into the period of mature. It is the urgent time for the large-scale coal enterprises to carefully think about their long-term direction of development, through the extension of the core business to ensure continued growth of large-scale coal enterprises, that is to say,the enterprise's resources and capabilities and better adapt to changes in the environment.This paper utilize management and industrial economics theories and methods, analyzed the current situation of domestic large coal enterprises and Zhengzhou Coal Group and give some countermeasures on industrial diversified development about Zhengzhou Coal Group .Through research, the paper argues that diversification of the domestic large coal enterprises to develop and has been fruitful, the world's coal industry has shown a trend "centralized, international and industrial diversification", which fully shows the importance of diversification for the coal industry which are resource dependent. Zhengzhou Coal Group should adhere to the main industry, search for new growth point, extend the industrial chain through the vertical integration and expand its business scope through related diversification while enhancing their strength and advantages,ensure it can successfully transfer to the related industries when resources are exhausted.
