Study On Suzhou Governmental Strategy For The Development Of E-commerce Logistics

The E-commerce has been developing so fast in China and also has pushed the rapid progress of E-commerce logistics. But the system of modern logistics in China is not perfect yet, which has largely restricted the further development of E-commerce. Suzhou, as one of the developed cities at Changjiang River delta, is also facing the challenge of E-commerce logistics development, although it has always stood in the top position in China for its E-commerce development level.In this paper,we systematically discuss the process of E-commerce logistics development, by investigating into the practice of Suzhou E-commerce logistics. The government’s role has been analyzed based on the study on the current situation of Suzhou E-commerce logistics. After analyzing the data collected from Suzhou city and full learning from the successful experience of logistics management of the developed countries and domestic advanced cities, we put forward several suggestions on Suzhou governmental strategies to promote the development of local E-commerce logistics.We hope that the results of this paper could be used as a reference for Suzhou government to publish suitable policies in order to improve the efficiency of local E-commerce logistics and expedite the sustainable development of E-commerce logistics towards both environmental logistics and international logistics.
