Study On Competitiveness Evaluation Of Urban Tourism Industry In Henan

Tourism industry has become one of the most energetic industry and many countries in the world give more attention to it. China’s tourism industry is facing an unprecedented opportunities for development. Many cities in China regard tourism industry as the most important or core industry in regional economies. Along with the rapid development of the tourism industry, the competition in the urban tourism industry will swiftly become intense. Only by evaluating and analyzing the competitiveness of various cities scientifically, can we promote the healthy competition and sustainable development of tourism industry in areas.According to this situation, this study aims at developing the competitiveness theory applied in tourism industry. In the base of relevant theories, this study defines the concept system of urban tourism industry, analyzes the factors that have impacts on and constitutes the evaluation model and index system for urban tourism industry. Following the analysis of the urban tourism industry in Henan province, this study evaluates the competitiveness of urban tourism industry in the eighteen cities in Henan province.Based on the above analyzes, the study comes to the following conclusions. Urban tourism industry is a complex system composed of various factors and based on the comprehensive city. The performance of an urban tourism industry is finally decided by industrial competitive advantages. The competitiveness components can be classified into three groups: the basic components, the core components and the support components. Tourism industry cluster is an important way to enhance the competitiveness of urban tourism industry. It has become the trend and direction of the further development of the tourism industry. Tourism industry in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng and Luoyang has become the dominant industry and ranked in the top 3. Tourism industry in Anyang, Nanyang, Pingdingshan, Jiaozuo, Shangqiu has also developed at a high level. The competitiveness of tourism industry in Hebi, Puyang, Sanmenxia, Xinyang, Zhumadian is not such powerful, and the competitiveness of tourism industry in Xinxiang, Xuchang, Luohe, Zhoukou, Jiyuan is fairly weak.
