Nowadays, the electric vehicle industry in China has come into the process of growing explosively. However, most enterprises are in the mode of extensive management. With the improvement of productivity, corporate profits more and more go from the manufacturing into the logistics. Production logistics has become an important source of corporate profits. While lean production is currently recognized as an ideal organizational system and a production method to eliminate all waste. It is in this context, the related technologies and methods of lean production are applied to tap the potential of production logistics and optimize the system of production logistics in Company Z.First, theories about lean thinking and production logistics are elaborated as well as the method of production logistics management based on lean thinking, which lay a solid theoretical foundation for the research. It also reveals the developing motivation and core functionality of lean production logistics.Secondly, analyse the current situation and problems of production logistics in Company Z from the angles of facility layout, material storage, material distribution and production planning.In the way of facilities layout, equipment are arranged in cluster, without considering the material flow. In the way of materials storage, whether it is raw materials, semi-finished or finished products, the time of looking for materials is wasted seriously. In the way of material distribution, the method and frequency of material distribution are not rational. In the way of production planning, the preparation of production planning is lack of rationality and it is a heavy workload, lack of dynamic controlling. Communication is difficult as well.Third, aiming at the existing issues of production logistics in Company Z, lean production logistics system model for Company Z is constructed from three levels. It provides a design scheme for implementing the lean production logistics system.Finally, the solution of lean production logistics system is implemented and evaluated. The techniques and methods of lean production are applied to improve the issues in Company Z. In the angle of facilities layout, design the production process systems of a single-piece flow and optimize the workshop facilities layout. In the angle of material storage, control the inventory by setting the lower limit of inventory, establish a rational inventory of parts by applying the stock analysis method of ABC-XYZ, rearrange the warehouse and carry out the visual management. In the angle of materials distribution, establish a material staging area and a material replenishment system between machining operations and welding work, redesign the material handling apparatus. In the angle of production plan and control, improve the way of planning and introduce PMC to achieve the integration of logistics and operations management.
