China is growing up as a big manufacturing country, but its technological innovation capability cannot be as good as that of developed countries. As the main innovation of the Research & Development (R&D) in technical manufacturing enterprises, R&D researchers’ innovation performance directly affects the innovation performance of enterprises. Additionally, scientific and technological advances in today’s society is developing rapidly, the market environment is fraught with uncertainty, so in order to improve the competitive abilities in external environment, the performance of R&D researchers’ innovation performance is very critical and important for the China’s manufacturing enterprises.Therefore, how to utilize the appropriate approach to promote R&D researcher’s awareness of trust, so as to improve in their innovation performance is a critical issue in manufacturing enterprises.Many scholars focused on the relationship between traditional trust, and employee attitudes and job performance. But the trusted feeling and the its impact on innovation performance of R&D researcher, and how does the staff could catch up with the trusted feeling and based on what’s kinds of mediating variables has not yet studied.For lack of existing research, taking the R&D researcher of manufacturing enterprises as the object of study, using the self-efficacy as a mediating variable, this dissertation studies the impact of perceived trust on R&D researchers’ innovation performance, so as to provide innovative management advice for business managers.In this dissertation, some theories and principles are reviewed and summarized firstly. Based on the weaknesses of previous studies, a novel theoretical models and research hypotheses are proposed; Secondly, a questionnaire of the trust awareness of R&D researcher, the initial self-efficacy and innovation performance is compiled. After small-scale and large-scale issuing the questionnaire, a wide range answer data is collected, and studied by using the analysis of variance, correlation and regression analysis, so as to obtain the direct effectiveness of the R&D researcher’s trust awareness acting on the innovation performance, and the mediating effect of self-efficacy between the R&D staff’s trust awareness and their innovation performance.The main conclusions are as follows:(1) the trust awareness of the R&D staff is significantly positive influence on innovation performance. Particularly, emotional trust awareness and cognitive trust awareness significantly affects the product innovation; emotional trust awareness and cognitive trust has positive influence on process innovation. (2) R&D researcher’s trust awareness is positive impact of self-efficacy; (3) Self-efficacy has positive influence on R&D staff’s innovation performance. Particularly, self-efficacy has positive influence on the product innovation; self-efficacy affect has positive influence on the process of innovation; (4) Self-efficacy plays an intermediary role completely between the trust awareness of the R&D staff and innovation performance.This study suggests that the trust awareness of the R&D staff and self-efficacy can significantly affect their innovation performance. Therefore the managers on the enterprise level should interact and communicate with R&D staff more frequently and sufficiently, so as to improve the staff trust awareness; and implement reasonable policy and leadership guideline to enhance the staff’s self-efficacy, to improve the R&D staff innovation performance in manufacturing enterprise, and strengthen the enterprise’s core competitive ability.
