China is the world’s third largest beef producer, but the contradiction between supply and demand of current beef market is outstanding, one aspect is the high price of beef, beef production can not meet the strong consumer demand; on the other hand is beef cattle breeding profit is not high, quantity of amount of livestock on hand continued to decline. Therefore, effective supply capacity and improve beef market, improve the beef industry chain circulation efficiency has become a pressing matter of the moment. Study on the production of beef circulation efficiency, involves feeding acquisition, slaughter and processing, wholesale and retail all aspects of beef cattle, beef circulation efficiency improvement should not be a part of the upgrade, but the whole industry chain to promote the efficiency of circulation.This paper according to the order of acquisition of beef production, breeding, slaughter and processing, wholesale and retail sectors of beef cattle, relative production index from market concentration degree, the degree of market integration, input and output efficiency and various aspects related to the analysis of the factors affecting the beef circulation efficiency.The logical sequence of this study are:first, the market supply and demand situation of beef industry and difficulties are analyzed, on the circulation characteristics of beef and beef products industry chain are analyzed; and then, separately from the beef cattle production, slaughter and processing link, the link to buy beef wholesale link and retail sectors of the beef circulation efficiency step by step analysis, the main factors that affect the efficiency of each link in the beef circulation. Finally, put forward the corresponding policy recommendations conclusions.The main conclusion are:(1) beef cattle feeding production chain complex internal structure, small scale, more links; overall domestic beef cattle feeding area concentration through the high and beef cattle breeding efficiency is not high, influence the acquisition of links in the circulation efficiency of beef cattle. (2) beef cattle slaughtering industry business model, the market concentration effect of slaughter and processing sectors of the beef circulation efficiency and product quality. (3) the overall layout, the wholesale market concentration degree of the market, the degree of market integration affects the wholesale segment beef circulation efficiency. (4) the consumer choose diversified retail premises and the main consumer pull the retail link beef circulation efficiency.The characteristic of this paper is to study the beef cattle industry circulation efficiency into the analysis framework of the industrial chain. The possible innovation lies in:(1) comprehensively expounds the overall development status of beef cattle industry production, processing, consumption and etc.. (2) the production index using various aspects related to the evaluation of the circulation efficiency, comprehensive utilization of factors affecting the measurement method and the qualitative representation of the beef circulation efficiency. (3) analyze the structure of China beef from the market supply and demand imbalance status of the circulation efficiency perspective.
