Foreign enterprises in China are facing increasingly serious potential entrants threat of competition from Southeast Asia, along with the labor cost advantage of China is reducing gradually. In the fierce competition of the aircraft wiring harness market, manufacturers introduce and implement Lean Six Sigma(LSS) management method, which can help them to pursuit high efficiency, perfection, flexibility, and excellence, in order to meet the growing product quality demand from customer, to maintain competitive advantage and to win in the globalization market competition.Lean theory aims to eliminate waste, reduce inventory, shorten the takt time and production cycle time, to achieve JIT production with low cost. Six Sigma management is a process improvement method which focuses on statistical analysis. The idea to combine the two kinds of management methods, breaks the limit of their respective theory, balances between speed, cost and quality. It will become the key promoter of the development of enterprise.Metal pieces bonding value non-conformance problem of AW harness (a civil aircraft trailing edge wing harness) of F (China) company, has existed for a long time. To meet the strict requirement, the company has to perform double inspection before delivery and rework if necessary, to ensure the AW wire harness be fully qualified.This paper introduces the application of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) management in F (China) company. This paper uses AW wire harness production of F (China) company as the research object, aiming to improve existing bonding process of metal pieces, of which the resistance exceeds the standard, to eliminate process waste, to improve the products stability and six sigma level, and to improve product quality, optimize the process and reduce production cost.The author takes part in the LSS project for AW harness department of F (China) company. This paper indicates that, the LSS project shortened the TPT, reduced the WIP, saved operation cost within the implementation of Lean Six Sigma. Through DMAIC process, studying the material properties, process, and other factors, F (China) company solved the AW harness metal bonding issue. The author investigated the theory of physical and electrical bonding, communicated with raw material suppliers for electric properties of materials when the LSS project was in difficult situation, and found the root cause in the end. It’s a design issue of customer. But the manufacturer, F (China) company needs to rework to make up for it. The LSS project team determined a solution, eliminated the company disturbance which has been for years.In the conclusion of this paper, the author confirms the positive role of the implementation of LSS project in F (China) company. LSS will become the trend in A/C harness industry in the future. The author popularizes it to the enterprises which eager to achieve sustainable development. The scope of application of Lean Six Sigma management will be more and more widely.The main research results of this paper is, solved the AW harness metal pieces 2nd bonding value NC issue for F (China) company, with the help of the implementation of Lean Six Sigma project in which the author participated. The paper expounds the importance and necessity of the implementation of LSS through empirical research methods and in-depth discussion of the specific project implemented in aircraft wiring harness manufacturer. The research on similar topics of A/C wiring harness manufacturing is extremely rare. The implementation of LSS in the paper has significant reference value for other A/C manufacturing enterprises.
