It is an important critical period for China auto industry development in the past ten years. Information systems construction and development will strongly support the development of auto companies changing from "big" company to "strong" company. As the leading domestic auto engine manufacturer, V Company decides to implement a fully integrated ERP information system, to explore its own ERP development road.This case is from a fully integrated SAP ERP project in V Company which started from middle of December 2012. The consultant and implementation service was provided by a globally famous A Company, whole project continued 18 month with two times schedule adjustments, and finally the project go live and go live support at June 2014 with 5 months delayed.This implementation project is for the wholly owned subsidiary of world famous car manufacture V; it is with high complexity, large working scope and involved many different business departments. It encountered many different problems during the 18 months implementation:too general definition of the SOW (Scope of Work), lack of responsibility of business departments, too frequent and unorganized change requests, unqualified data quality and lack of an overview and planning for go live Strategy.We will use the SAP theory and project implementation theory, analysis the real situation with this case, make as well practicable suggestions from following five parts, which matches similar ERP projects and situations like Car-Component V Company:clear SOW definition and same goal with same expectation, defined responsibility for the business process owner, an effective change request control and management, continually support from management level, and a well-designed company regulation and policy. Therefore we can control the risk of ERP SAP and improve the implementation efficiency, to ensure the success of project implementation, which can give the useful ideas and references to the system implementation in V Company in future and also to the other subsidiaries of Car-Manufacture V; as well, this case is also very helpful to the other similar ERP implementation projects.
