Research On Coordinated Evelopment Between Urbanization And Eco-environment Of Shanxi Coal Cities

As China entering a new urbanization stage of city society, the high rate urbanization promotes the development of economic, culture and social. At the same time,a variety of environmental problems are emerging. How to coordinate the development of eco-environment and urbanization has become the focus of attention. As the province that depends on coal industry, the eco-environment problems in Shanxi province is more serious, and it is urgent to have a research on coordinated development between urbanization and the eco-environment of the coal cities of Shanxi, and targeted lead them urbanize environment-friendly.The research based on the statistical data from 2000 to 2009 in the coal cities of Shanxi Province, which includes Datong, Yangquan, Changzhi, Jincheng and Shuozhou, a comprehensive evaluation system was set up for urbanization and eco-environment. The evaluation system evaluated urbanization from population, industry, space, consumption and social urbanization, and evaluated eco-environment from pressure, status and response. Then the coordinated development was used to analysis the coordinated development of urbanization and eco-environment of coal cities. Based on the understanding of the coal cities’ coordinated development stage, the study has a regression analysis for the influence of population, industrial structure, economic, environmental pollution and protection. Combining above results, some targeted suggestion for the coordinated development of the coal city are suggested.The main contents of this paper include:(1) A description of the urbanization and eco-environment evolution path for Shanxi coal cities.(2) An analysis of the coordinated development between urbanization and eco-environment for Shanxi coal cities, to get a impression of their coordinated development stage.(3) An analysis of the factors which influence coordinated development between urbanization and eco-environment for Shanxi coal cities, and some suggestions of how to urbanize environment-friendly.Following conclusions are reached through the research:(1) In recent years, the urbanization comprehensive indexes of Shanxi coal cities all show a stable growth, which means the urbanization level is increasing stable, and are developing rapidly. From the evolve path of eco-environment, the situation of different coal cities show different curves, but they all keep increasing,which reflects the improving trend of the overall eco-environment.(2) During the study period, coordinated development between urbanization and eco-environment of Shanxi coal cities generally have obvious promotion, in addition to Yangquan, which is still in the middle stage of coordinated development, the other four cities have all entered the good coordinated development stage of urbanization and eco-environment. The coordinated relationship of urbanization and eco-environment of Shanxi coal cities are lagging behind in the development of eco-environment, and different city has different degrees.(3) Some factors as the proportion of urban population, the proportion of second industry output value in GDP, the per capita disposable income of urban households, registered unemployment rate, the emission of industrial sulfur dioxide, the comprehensive utilization product value of waste, have significant influence on the coordinated development between urbanization and eco-environment of Shanxi coal cities.
