Supplier Evaluation&Selection Study For HV Motor Overseas Service

With the government’s gradual adjustment of domestic economic structure,strong regulation&control of investment-oriented infrastructure, the domestic orderdemand ratio of equipment manufacturing industry tends to be lower and lower.However, after China’s accession to the WTO, the equipment manufacturing industry’space of “Going Out” is stepping up. Ratio&total value of export increased year byyear. Meanwhile, the impact of international financial crisis is a pair of ordeal&opportunity. As a result, all countries pay more attention to control cost of investment,and during this period China’s overseas General Contract Projects provided agratifying transcripts of seven years’ consecutive increase of30%average annuallyboosting the rapid export growth of equipment manufacturing industry. However,while exports increased dramatically, many enterprises’ after-sales service cannot keepup with the pace of business and market development. They are using the old patternsof dispatch engineers and spares from headquarters with low efficiency, high cost,large limits and poor customer satisfaction. So, to create a perfect overseas after-salesservice network is the only way of internationalization for most of the equipmentmanufacturing enterprises.Basing on the above background, this thesis researches the evaluation andselection of HV motor overseas service suppliers. After analyzing the limitation oforiginal corresponding selection procedure, it rebuilds a new AHP-GRAP based HVmotor overseas service supplier selection procedure. It specifically study theestablishment of index system for HV motor overseas service supplier evaluation,determination of index weight by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) andestablishment of decision model basing on the Gray Relational Analysis Process(GRAP). Combining with my work of overseas affairs, it verifies the new supplierevaluation and selection procedure basing on AHP-GRAP by the instance&operationexperience of HV motor overseas service supplier selection for Shanghai ElectricMachinery Co., Ltd (SEC). It proves that the procedure is operational in the practicalapplication, and it can solve the problem of company’s selection of HV motor overseasservice supplier at present. It can be a reference and guide for other types of supplier selection in my company and other equipment manufacturing enterprises of the sameindustry.
