The coal price went marketized and reached unification in2013, hence, the dual-pricesystem applied to coal and electricity vanished after existing about10years. Like manyother enterprises within industry, Huadian Coal Industry Group(refers to Huadian Grouphereafter) is facing problems in high procurement cost, decreasing client sources, poorperformance and harsh competition in market, etc., which had become primary bottlenecksto the company’s development. Under the new policy, only changes can save enterprisesout of dilemma. Given the company’s actual condition, it’s believed that the most effectivechange would be the implementation of BPR. In this thesis, Huadian Group’s businessprocess currently in-use will be analyzed through practical analysis, documentinvestigation and comparative analysis; critical points will be identified to be analyzed andre-engineered under BPR theory. It’s expected that the enterprise will be makingoutstanding achievement in areas that most reflect competition such as procurement cost,supply&demand, value added service, etc.Firstly, this thesis is theoretically based on BPR theory and relating logistic theoriesin coal business. The background and purpose of the research are outlined, and the statusquo of the research going on worldwide is elaborated from different researcher’s points ofview.Secondly, the variances among existing business processes of coal industry areidentified through comparison and its impact is analyzed subsequently. It’s concluded thatthe critical points of the BPR of coal industry are transportation system and transitionports warehouse. Specific analysis is followed subsequently.Lastly, the critical points are re-evaluated and re-engineered pursuant to BPR theory;the outcome is predicted and summarized. Based on which, advices for the improvementof information, management and human resources as well as for the continualimprovement of BPR theory are provided, in an effort to prompt the sustainabledevelopment of the coal industry chain.
