China’s rural collective economy is facing the challenge and task oftransformation with the deepening of its urbanization. Accordingly, it isnecessary to further strengthen rural collective property management, innovate management mechanism and explore a new management pattern.Starting from the analysis of relevant theories concerning rural collectiveeconomy and its management, this thesis has attempted to explore newways to improve the current management of rural collective assets.Drawing on evidence from Malu, the thesis has reviewed developmenthistory and management of rural collective economy, investigated thecurrent situation, analyzed the major problems in the management of ruralcollective assets, and examined the fundamental reasons for theseproblems. Based on these, a modified management pattern for ruralcollective assets for suburban Malu is proposed. It is suggested that inorder to achieve a better management of rural collective assets, it isnecessary to take multiple measures, such as to further develop itsmanagement system, clarify collective property rights, deepen theinstitutional reform on property rights, improve its profit redistributionmechanism, strengthen the management of rural ‘assets, resources andfinance’, and enhance the financial support.
