Application Research On The Selection Method Of Auto Body Parts Supplier

With the economic globalization, the competition on auto industry market hasbecome fiercer and fiercer. Car enterprises need to rely on the resources in bothupstream and downstream enterprises to pursue their own development. In the contextof supply chain, the relationship between enterprises and suppliers has changed fromthe original “competitors” into “partners”. The purchase cost accounts for the vastmajority in total cost of manufacturing industry, thus, as the source of the supply chain,the reasonable and effective supplier selection has already determined the success ofthe operation of supply chain.As one of the typical automobile body parts enterprises, TN Company is afirst-class parts supplier for domestic large main engine plants, whose productprocurement and especially these outgoing and outsourcing stamping and weldingparts have the features of large investment in prophase period, long development cycle,high requirements for production capacity and delivery time node and so on. In thispaper, the problems and deficiencies in the procurement supplier selection process onTN Company are analyzed and corresponding improvement program has also beenproposed.In this paper, the commonly used supplier selection criteria and methods in theliterature at home and abroad are analyzed and compared. Comprehensivelyconsidering the purchase features of TN Company and its previous deficiencies insupplier selection, the suppliers for product purchase are divided into raw materialprocurement suppliers and outgoing and outsourcing parts suppliers, and thenselection process of these two types of suppliers is sorted out respectively. Finally inaccordance with the actual situation of the company’s purchase, the standard system ofTN Company for supplier selection is constructed by4first-level principles (quality,service, technology and price) and9second-level principles. The weight of eachindicator for two types of suppliers is determined by the application of AHP, and thequalitative and quantitative assessments are conducted over TN Company’sprocurement suppliers, besides, they are practically applied and verified in theCompany. This paper provides valuable reference to supplier selection for enterprisesof automobile body parts.
