Corporate Social Responsibility is one of the hot points which is commonconcerned by the world. In the process of building a harmonious society, what kind ofsocial responsibilities and how to fulfill are particularly important to the state-ownedenterprises, with the dominant controlling position in the national economy.State-owned economy is the leader and pillar of economic development in Tianjin,state-owned enterprises should undertake the social responsibilities such as protectingecological environment, promoting employment, leading other companies to develop,maintaining social stability and many other aspects when they are active in thecreation of economic profit, maintaining economy growth continuing and stable.Studying the social responsibility of state-owned enterprises in Tianjin is of greatsignificance to the promotion of the development of Tianjin and even for the harmonyand stability of the entire northern region.This thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical analysis part includes the firsttwo Chapters. Chapter One clarifies the background, significance and methods of theresearch; Chapter Two sorts out the domestic and foreign scholars’ research oncorporate social responsibility of common and state-owned enterprises, and definesthe specific content of the nature and main target of state-owned enterprises, and thesocial responsibility of their stakeholders, including government, shareholders,employees, customers, competitors and partners, environment and community.Practical research part includes Chapter Three to Five. Chapters Three and Fouranalyze the situation of the state-owned enterprises fulfilling their socialresponsibilities in Tianjin from the overall and the case perspective. Among these twoChapters, Chapter Three analyzes the achievements of Tianjin state-owned enterprisesfulfilling their social responsibility, and the phenomenon of social responsibilityabsence and the reason for these problems from the overall perspective. Chapter Fourchooses two typical and representative state-owned enterprises in Tianjin. Analysesthe two enterprises’ specific circumstances of fulfilling social responsibilities andcompares the differences between them. Chapter Five makes concrete proposals topromote the state-owned enterprises to fulfill their social responsibility from theconstruction of three levels: making government regulations, establishing corporate social responsibility system, and strengthening social supervision.
