Study On Feed Industry Situation And Develoment Countermeasures In Yulin

Feed industry is a basic industry in the development of modern animal husbandry. Thebackground of this study is that now in Yulin the animal husbandry is vigorously developed,while feed industry faces a bottleneck. Through accessing to relevant information andpractical investigation, and selecting typical7medium-sized enterprises and15small feedprocessing plants to analyze, conclusions of this study are as follows:1. Animal husbandry industry in Yulin maintains a rapid development in recent years. In2013, the feeding quality of sheep, pigs and poultry respectively reached9,908,000,2,462,900, and10,798,200; meat, eggs and milk production respectively reached179,000tons,52,300tons and90,200tons; and animal husbandry output value reached9,230,000,000Yuan.Vigorously developed animal husbandry leads to the increasing demand on feed product,which means the feed industry is facing good opportunities. But the fact is that the feedindustry output in2013in Yulin was only57,582tons, which down7.1%compared with thatin2012. The market shares of about90%are occupied by foreign brands.2. After the optimization and integration in recent years, by the end of2013, there weretotally28feed production enterprises and552employees in feed processing enterprises. In2013, the total output of feed industries are57,582tons, including27,681tons of concentratedfeed, which down2%compared with that in2012;10,810tons of feed, which comparablydown20.7%;2,959tons of supplemental concentrate, which comparably down13%;705tonsof additive premix feed, which comparably down82.6%;15,427tons soybean meal material,which comparably higher20.3%. The animal husbandry was developing while feed industryproduction is declining.3. The fixed assets profit rate, capital profit rate and profit rate of the medium scale feedenterprise were of significant economic benefits compared with what of small feed enterprises.Different varieties of feed had different profit rate, such as the profit rate of concentrated feedwas higher than that of formula feed; the profit rate of ruminant animal feed was higher thanthat pig feed and poultry feed. The development of feed industry in Yulin obviously lagged inaquaculture industry. Pigs, poultry, ruminant animal feed production is far below theaquaculture demand. Personnel qualities of feed industry are relatively too low to meet the development requirements of the new situation.4. Feed industry development started late in Yulin. Those enterprises had small enterprisescale, low production, low technological content of products, and weak marketcompetitiveness. In future the managers of feed enterprise should pay attention to enhancescientific and technological content, reduce the consumption of resources, and graduallyrealize the transformation from the traditional extensive management to the management ofthe scale, from blind expansion of production to steadily improvement of product quality,from the waste of resources to the efficient use of resources, and finally change theirenterprises in to competitive and large-scale feed enterprises.
