Yulin is one of the main potato production areas in Shaanxi Province. Potato planting area in Yulin is about 70% of Shaanxi Province, and Yulin is the third largest potato production city in China. Acreage and output of potato production in Yulin was increasing in last few years. The acreage and output of potato was 37.9% and 35.4% of food crop production in Yulin, respectively. Meantime, ratio of net income from potato production in farmer household was about 30%. Potato production is the first large industry of the characteristic agribusiness of Yulin. Therefore, fast and good development of potato production is very important for economic development of wholecity, especially for agriculture and rural area development.Based on actual situation of Yulin city and development situation of potato production industry in Yulin, problems of potato production industry of Yulin, which include cultivar choice, seed potato detoxication, synthesis cultivation techniques, processing techniques, potato storage, professional market etc., were analyzed, as well as advantages of potato production industry of Yulin, include land and climate resources, economic development, potato production technology, transportation and policies, were described. Successful experiences of potato production industry development in developed neighbor areas were introduced, and the countermeasures for fast development of potato production industry in Yulin were presented as following:1. To choose improved potato variety reasonably and to distribute it scientifically, and to put forward to standardized potato cultivation;2.
