Since the reform and opening up to the outside world, the private enterprises have gradually become a prominent part of the modern enterprises in China due to its rapid development. The private enterprises occupy a pivotal position in national economy, and play an important role. At the beginning of the private enterprises’ establishment, the operation by father and son, husband and wife, family system, brother alliance, close friends or even a single man are feasible. However, with the development of the career and the growing of enterprise scale, it becomes quite difficult to comprehensively operate enterprises, especially in such a rapid-developed era of knowledge and economy globalization. Therefore, there is an urgent need to look for people with ability to manage the enterprises jointly. In such context, human resource management becomes necessary. At the same time, compared with state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises, private enterprises are limited greatly by national policies and systems, and have problems such as the immature and less normative management modes. Thus, the development and management of human resources plays an significant role in the sustainable development of private enterprises.Shanxi Luxin Group, which the author works for, is a large-scale private enterprise with coal industry as main business and other relevant industries as supplement. In recent years, Luxin Group has made great efforts to develop circular economy, bringing breakthroughs to economic benefits in continuous years, smoothly making a strong start and firmly entering a new phase of science crossing. But it’s admitted that the rule by man and irrational management ideology still exit in the enterprise. Especially compared with large modern international enterprises, the management conception and operation of our human resource are still in low level, which has become the main factor that restricts the healthy development of our enterprise. This paper regards the improvement of Luxin Group’s human resource management as its theme, and it consists of six parts. The first part is preface, introducing the background, purpose and significance of the research, as well as the basic train of thought and logic structure. The second part defines the concept of private enterprise, human resource and human resource management respectively and detailedly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the human resource management of private enterprise and its future development trend. The third part summarizes the existing problem of Luxin Group’s human resource management and the roots that cause those problems through analyzing the current situation of Luxin Group’s human resource and the assessment of the results of employee satisfaction survey. The fourth part puts forward the strategic target and general idea of Luxin Group’s human resource management through analyzing the development strategy of Luxin Group and the SWOT of the human resource management strategy. The fifth part introduces the specific countermeasure of Luxin Group in detail to strengthen its human resource management. The sixth part ends the whole thesis with a conclusion.This paper first analyzes and defines the concept of private enterprise, human resource and human resource management, and at the same time, analyzes the advantages of human resource management in private enterprises, such as the unity of right and responsibility, the less organization procures, the flexible employment mechanism, high efficiency, strong cohesion and centripetal force of enterprise. Meanwhile, the human resource management of private enterprise has severe defects, mainly in aspects like resource, system, capital, mechanism and culture.Through the above analyses, this paper concludes the specific countermeasures to strengthen the human resource management of Luxin Group: the first is to handle the orientation and plan scientifically; the second is to introduce managers and break the family business mode; the third is to configurate reasonably and use scientifically. The configuration of various employees in Luxin Group should be more reasonable and scientific gradually. The configuration and use of management personnel, technical personnel and skilled personnel should be different, rather than be treated by the same way.This paper mainly adopts the combination of documents research and cases analysis. Through analyzing the employee satisfaction, SWOT, charts, etc, and looking into large amount of documents related to private enterprises and human resource management research, this paper takes the actual situation of Luxin Group into consideration, detailedly analyzes and studies it, finds out problems, analyzes them and solves them, so that it puts forward specific countermeasures to strengthen the human resource management of Luxin Group. The innovations are that, firstly, according to the general development strategy of Luxin Group and the actual problems of human resource management, the paper puts forward the human resource development strategy that matches the strategic target of the enterprise, leading the human resource management of Luxin Group to a scientific and standardized track and laying a solid foundation for the realization of the enterprise’s strategic targets; secondly, according to the current situation and the existing problems of human resource management in Luxin Group, after analyzing and summarizing those problems, the paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures, ensuring the effective implementation of the human resource development strategy and target of the enterprise, and the sustainable development of the enterprise from the level of human resource management.
