Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of the global tourism industry, it has become the world’slargest industry. Competition among countries, regions and cities are increasingly apparent,and even enter the white-hot stage. At the same time, experts from all over the world has donea lot of research on tourism competitiveness. In2005, with the formation of the Bohai tourismcircle, the region’s tourism has become a hot issue, and enhances the tourism competitivenessabout Bohai as well as China has great significance.Based on17prefecture-level cities in Bohai tourism circle, the writer selected24indicators constructed index system of city tourism competitiveness from present situation oftourism, tourism potential and tourism environment support and applied principal componentanalysis and cluster analysis to evaluate tourism competitiveness of17prefecture-level citiesin Bohai tourism circle. By comparing the score of each city tourism competitiveness and itsadvantage and disadvantage, the author put forward some strategies and recommendations topromote city tourism competitiveness according to evaluation result. The paper is divided intosix parts:The first part: The author described the background and significance of topics;Analyzing and summarizing the research progress of city tourism competitiveness abouthome and abroad; Finally, the research contents, methods and technical route are introduced.The second part: The basic concepts and four basic theory(The Theory Of ComparativeAdvantage, Theory of Competitive Advantages, Tourism System Theory, Theory ofSustainable Development) of development and progress about city tourism competitivenessare described.The third part: The author constructed the evaluation system of city tourismcompetitiveness and put forward quantitative evaluation method.The fourth part: principal component analysis and cluster analysis are used to analyzeand compare evaluation result of17prefecture-level cities and arrived each other’s advantageand disadvantage.The fifth part: Based on evaluation, the author put forward some upgrading strategiesaccording to tourism development situation.The sixth part: The writer concluded research conclusions and proposed some shortageand innovation during writing, and provided significance for future work.
