A large number of small and medium-sized exhibition companies play an irreplaceable rolein the overall development of China’s exhibition industry. With the implementation of theinternationalization strategy of the International Exhibition giants, they have locked in the hugemarket potential of China market, which brings a great deal of pressure to the survive of thedomestic exhibition companies and makes the improvement of enterprise management levelbecome the inevitable choice for its response to the increasingly fierce competition. As anemerging knowledge-intensive industry, exhibition companies are very special, in which manytraditional management styles and philosophies have not adapted to the management of small andmedium-sized exhibition companies. From the reality of small and medium-sized exhibitioncompanies, to explore relations in line with the actual management of innovative ways to thedevelopment of a single exhibition enterprises and exhibition industry as a whole is of veryimportant theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of in retrospect the relevant theory, this paper, combining theoretical andempirical research methods, builds management innovation system of the small and medium-sizedexhibition company, and proposes the implementation points and measures of managementinnovation by depth analysis of critical success factors of conference and exhibition projects insmall and medium-sized exhibition companies. Specifically, it mainly consists of two parts: Firstly,it explores the application of the theory of firm boundaries in the management of innovation insmall and medium exhibition companies and builds a system of management innovation from amacro point of view. Secondly, it obtains exhibition projects’ critical success factors and theirinteraction according to quantitative analysis of the questionnaires, based on which analyses thecontent of the management of innovation and proposes some specific implementation paths.The innovation of this paper is to explore the selection and implementation of innovativemanagement in small and medium exhibition companies from the point of view of the exhibition project management.
