Research On The Housing Problems Of The Migrant Workers In Zhengzhou

Along with the accelerated process of urbanization，housing security has become aserious issue facing China. Though our country has set up corresponding system ofhousing security, it is incomplete and unsatisfactory. Especially, the establishment ofthis system for the migrant workers is relatively insufficient and slow. As is known toall, Henan province is a big province in population and Zhengzhou is a populous citywhere migrant workers gather together. They have made great contributions forZhengzhou’s economic development. But their housing conditions make us soworried. So how to solve it is a necessary road of the development facing governmentand an important task of construction and maintenance of social stability andharmonious society.In order to accelerate the integration process of urban society, Zhengzhou putsforward some new proposals of building the migrant workers housing security systemin2013,which cancel the low-rent house and economically affordable houseconstruction and at the same time.The new policies do not limit household registrationsystem and income, which is in favor of migrant workers. However, the policy isimplemented recently, through some empirical research into its format, it exists manyproblems, for examples, securing housing policies coverage lower, the housing supplyand demand unbalanced, unearned income without consideration, allowance wayinadequate and so on. There are many related factors influencing the housingproblems of the migrant workers. In the objective aspect, the process of urbanizationis so fast, with interest contradiction between the rural and urban. In the subjectiveaspect, the migrant workers’ finite ability of improving living standard and theirincome is too low. Comparing the ways of solving the housing problem of migrantworkers at home and abroad, such as USA, Singapore, Suzhou, Chongqing, havedifferent characteristics and provide many useful experiences for solving the housing problem of migrant workers in Zhengzhou.This paper summarizes the housing situation of the migrant workers inZhengzhou and the implement of the aspects of the policy, Combined with the actualconditions of Zhengzhou and the experience of the advanced countries or the areas,the paper proposes concrete measures on housing policy of migrant workers,including enlarging the scale of housing guarantee, building a one-stopcomprehensive service platform, making allowance way diversification, reforming“village inside city” reasonably and other measures.
