Establishing the perfect performance appraisal system, help enterprises to strengthen internal management, is an important means to motivate staff. In recent years, the market competition of domestic commodity inspection has been fierce, which the situation is grim. GXZJ Inspection Company is also faced with new opportunities and challenges. Commodity survey position (surveyor) and lab testing position (analyst) are the two most important key technical positions of GXZJ Inspection Company. How to appraise performance of these two key technical positions scientifically and reasonably is of great significance to strengthen internal management, promote business development and stabilize core technology team of GXZJ Inspection Company.Based on relative definition, motivation theories, the relative theory and method of performance appraisal, document research, field survey and system analysis were applied for the study in this thesis. We also refer to research results of performance appraisal of similar institutions or similar position evaluation, and analyze job content, nature and characteristics of the key technical positions and GXZJ Inspection Company’s strategic target. Based on above-mentioned content and Main-basal Performance Assessment Model, we have established a new performance appraisal system, which has merged job quantization appraisal, in order to improve the present system. The new system has further improved quantization weight and reduced the weight of subjective evaluation. The news system can inspire surveyor and analyst to strive for good performance, while the requirements of basic management are ensured.This thesis not only has a strong practical significance to improve the inspection company’s performance appraisal, but also provides some reference for the performance appraisal of other technical positions.
