Energy is an important resource for the industrialization and economic development. China has made remarkable development achievements in recent years but it is also face energy shortage and environment pollution.-Compared with Japan and South Korea, China’s energy resources are relatively abundant. However, due to great total population, capita resource of China is scarcity. Nowadays, China has been a major energy importer in the world. The energy security has become a worry for China’s economic and social development.. While as energy endowment shortage country, Japan and South Korea has achieved industrialization and ranked in the developed country. It is worthy for China to ponder and learn their experiences and lessons of development.Based on the theory of energy economics and econometrics, this paper researched socio-economic profile, energy production and consumption, energy demand and energy structure of China, Japan, South Korea, then gave a comparative study on the relationship between energy demand and economic growth. It showed that Japan and South Korea’s energy demand is weakly related with energy demand, and the industry proportion is not positive correlated with energy demand. While China’s energy demand and industrialization is significantly positive correlated with economic growth. The international crude oil price is more negatively correlated with energy demand, and Japan shows more sensitivity to the changes of international crude oil prices.Energy security is significant for a country’s stable development of economic and society. For China, it is meaningful to learn the energy technology and skills to develop the recycling economy. As for Japan and South Korea, it is a very great strategic opportunity to cooperation with China on Northeast Asia energy development and utilization.
