After joining the WTO, with the amount of exports increasing rapidly, China’s auto exports is booming and has achieved good results in exports. As a segment of the auto industry, China’s bus industry has a higher development level and international competitiveness level than that of its auto industry. Since2005, China’s bus industry has taken up a way of export expansion. Before2008, it has been in a comprehensive expansion phase, and has basically formed the pattern of the export of China’s bus industry. But, the advent of the global financial crisis became a blow to the increasingly developed exports of China’s bus, and had an obvious effect on it. So many people began to doubt whether the export competitive of China’s bus industry still existed, where its export competitiveness came from, and thought about what should its sustainable development be based on. All those questions should be taken into serious consideration by all the bus enterprises who are engaged in the bus export. In recent years, the export competitiveness level of China’s bus industry is being enhanced unceasingly, but there exist many problems in the process of developing our bus industry, such as the bad resource integration, low technical content, less brand awareness, and the lack of quality and the service competitiveness. And these are the cruxes which hinder the competitiveness of China’s car industry from enhancing.In recent years, the export competitiveness level of China’s bus industry is being enhanced unceasingly, but there exist many problems, such as the bad resource integration, low technical content, less brand awareness, and the lack of quality and the service competitiveness, and so on. In order to form a lasting export competitiveness, China bus industry must solve the problems mentioned above.The study of international competitiveness started from the late70s,20th. The export competitiveness is the international competitiveness at a micro level and is a specific international competitiveness. The study of export competitiveness at home and abroad focused on the definition of export competitiveness, the source of the export competitiveness, the factors that influence the export competitiveness and some empirical analysis about export competitiveness, and so far, those researches has gained some considerable achievements. By using some indexes of the export competitiveness, this paper evaluates the export competitiveness of China’s bus industry. On one hand, this paper enriches the study of bus exports, on the other hand, through analyzing the diamond model’s factors that influence the bus export competitiveness, this paper can contribute to promoting the export competitiveness of China’s bus industry in the new situation.First of all, based on the data of our country’s bus exports, this paper gives a quantitative and qualitative description of China’s bus industry from five aspects, and they are respectively the export scale, the export structure, the export enterprises, the export destination and the export prices. Then, this paper calculates the MS, the TCI, the RCA and the QCI of the bus industry of China, Brazil, India, South Korea, Japan and Germany in recent years, and makes a comparison of them on the basis of the results. And then, based on Porter’s diamond model, this paper makes an analysis of factors affecting the export competitiveness of China’s bus industry. The factors are factor conditions, demand conditions, industrial strategy and competition, the related and supporting industries, the government and opportunity. The first four factors are the elemental factors and the last two are auxiliary factors. On the basis of the analysis, this paper finds the advantages and disadvantages of China’s bus industry, and the reasons behind them. Finally, in view of the disadvantages of China’s bus industry in the course of export, this paper comes to some conclusions and some suggestions at the stand of the government and the enterprises that engaged in the bus export, hoping to contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of China’s bus industry and the improvement of its export competitiveness. |
