Inner Mongolia’s area is very vast, but its terrain is long and narrow. Since the ancient times, the economic basis and development level in the east and west of Inner Mongolia are very different, especially since the reform and opening up, the difference among the east and the west is increasingly clear due to the different economic policy and resource conditions.More than30years of reform and opening up, The economy of Inner Mongolia maintained a high-speed growth trend, From1995to2011, It grew faster than the national average growth for17consecutive years. From2002to2009, Inner Mongolia’s GDP grew first in the country for eight consecutive years. At the same time of rapid economic development of Inner Mongolia, The disparity of Inner Mongolia regional economic development is becoming more and more obvious. To promote coordinated development of regional economy has become the most important problem which needs to solve. In the economic development of Inner Mongolia, we should give full play to the rapid economic development region, drive backward area economic development and narrow the gap between regions. This paper adoptes per capita GDP as variable index in measuring the regional economic differences and analyses economic differences between absolute and relative economic level. It reveals the present situation of the non-equilibrium development, that is the triangle region of "Huhhot-BaoTou-Erdos" regions develop rather fast, and the eastern and other western regions develop relatively slowly. The reason which caused the unbalanced development in the regions is extensive. This paper mainly discusses from some aspects. Finally the paper proposed the policy suggestions to promote regional economic coordinated development of Inner Mongolia, including increase the support of the government, pay great attention to underdeveloped regions, optimize regional industrial structure, change the function of local government and promote cross-regional cooperation. Through the joint efforts of the people of Inner Mongolia, we can gradually change the present situation of unbalanced development and accelerate the further development of Inner Mongolia.
