In recent years, China’s export-oriented manufacturing industry is facing huge challengesdue to the economic downtown of Europe and other developed countries. Coupled with thecontinuous appreciation of the yuan and rising labor costs, China endures in a serious declinein export earnings. The Chinese manufacturing industry is facing significant cost pressures. Sohow to improve the core competitiveness of manufacturing-to ensure quality, on timedelivery with minimal production cost become a very important issue.In this paper, by choosing high-end fitness equipments of LD company which are mainlyexported to Europe as the research object, through comparative analysis of theimplementation of lean manufacturing productivity before and after, to illustrate the leanproduction system to customer requirements based on the elimination of eight wastes (poorquality, rework, over processing, motion waste, waste of handling, inventory waste,excessive manufacturing waste, unnecessary waiting and waste of employee’s talent), theproduction efficiency significantly indeed improved.Based on the reality of LD company production line, according to the lean productiontheory, and industrial engineering theory, respectively, this paper shows how the Leanpractice improved the production line balance, productivity, output, leadtime, cost reduction,and profits increase, from the perspective of optimization of production line layout,improvement of the production line type, production process optimization, standardoperations, improvement of operational capabilities of the device.Generally the process of implementing lean systems includes–First to analyze theVSM(Value Stream Mapping), and identify the waste cycles on the VSM based on thecustomer demand. Secondly, through PQPR (production flow analysis), the product family canbe identified based on the process differences. Then use U-shaped production line layout ideasto adjust the layout of the production line. Next, measure the operating time, and arrange workers based on the measurement of time and ensure that the operating balance between theworkers. At the same time, SMED (single minute change for dies) solutions need to beconsidered. Finally,5S practice will maintain the work environment.Based on the implementation of Lean in LD company, this paper not only summed up theefficiency increase per capita, but also bring up issues and solutions during the implementationof Lean system. This paper can be used as reference for manufacturers who are traditionalmass production organized and plan to adapt the Lean production system, especially importantsmall quantities and high mix production.
