Research On Incubation Performance And Influence Factors Of Information And Technology Business Incubators

As an important driver of the social improvement, Information technology (IT)plays astrategic role in our economic system. In recent years, in order promote the development ofITindustry, many business incubators which mainly servers the IT start-ups appeared all over thecountry.Compared tothe comprehensive business incubator, IT business incubatorhasprofessional advantages of technology and talent, which can improve the success rate ofincubating enterprises. However, the IT business incubators have not yet acquired enoughattention. What is the incubation situation of IT incubators, whether the incubation efficiencyneeds to improve, and what are the influence factors of the incubation effciency are thequestions need to be answer, andthat is the point of this thesis.Firstly, the development situation of IT business incubators is analyzed, and then theDEA method is used to evaluate the incubation performance with50national IT businessincubators. The analysis of technology efficiency (TE), the pure technical efficiency (PTE),the scale efficiency (SE), the projection and the shadow price of incubators shows theperformance of the IT business incubators and how to improve the input and output. Then,196comprehensive business incubators are selected to make a comparison with IT businessincubators, from which the performance gap between the two kinds of incubators is obtained.The performance analysis shows thatthe overall incubation performance of IT businessincubators is low, butwith great difference, andwhich is much lower than that of thecomprehensive business incubators. The main reason is that in IT business incubators the useand configuration of their own investment resources is inefficient. In this case, IT businessincubators need to optimizeprofessional counseling team, strengthen the use of funds andtechnology platform, and expand the scope of business, improve the revenue, which can fostermore start-up business and improve the innovation capability of enterprises.Secondly, in view of the relative performance gap between IT business incubators withDEA, the reasons to the gap are further discussed through the comparative analysis withtypical incubators.5deep interviews to the selected business incubators are taken withGrounded Theory. After codingthe interview data,21influence factors are identified. Then themodel of influence factors that affectIT business incubator’s incubation performance isestablished,with dimensions of the external factor, the internal factor and the associated factor.Furthermore, the influence path of these factors are describedFinally, case study method isused.Performace evaluation andinfluence factor analysis are given to the Guangdong Tops Soft-part. Consequently,the evaluation results of the IT businessincubator’s performance are verified, and the influence factors model is proved to beeffective.
