Six Sigma In The Mettler - Toledo Practice

Six Sigma, as a breakthrough strategy of quality management method, has received increasingly considerable attention. Many CEO's try to implement this management method in their company. Although they have more enthusiasm in it, they always have many difficulties or barrier. How to implement Six Sigma? In this paper, we will mainly discuss how to introduce this management method and how to implement Six Sigma successfully, Mettler-Toledo Scale & System Ltd. is a good example.At the beginning of this paper, we introduce the basic concept of Six Sigma management, and analyze the meaning and characteristic of Six Sigma, and illustrate the significations of Six Sigma management. And then this paper analyzes relationship between Six Sigma and other management method, introduce the new development of Six Sigma which are design for Six Sigma and lean Six Sigma. It illustrate that the Six Sigma management have strong ability to make a great breakthrough in quality improvement. Then the paper introduces the details of how Mettler-Toledo implements Six Sigma. It containe Six Sigma organization, project choice, project development, evaluation, training, testing and prompting. The paper also has a Six Sigma project sample which is "Improving the efficiency of products and customers tracking system". In this project, use DMADV method to analyze it, find the root cause and improve it to achieve the benefits. At last, the paper mention that we must pay more attention to those problems that may cause in the Six Sigma implementation. And Six Sigma will bring a bright foreground to the weighing industry field.
