Evaluation Of The People-enriching Effect Of Thrice Industry In Gansu

At present, China is in the transition of an important social and economicdevelopment and achieving great social progress and economic triumph. In this goodbackground, however, the hidden contradictions in the reform have gradually surfaced,among which are the widening income gap and the slow income growth. At the sametime, people’s livelihood has become a hot topic in discussion and a major concern ofsocial policy tendencies. Gansu is affected by location factors, historical factors andthe national strategies, so the overall level of economic development in Gansu lagsbehind the national average. Developing the economy, enriching the people,increasing the income level of urban and rural residents and ensuring Gansu to enterthe comprehensive well-off society with other members in China now have becomean important historical mission in Gansu.By factor analysis and principal component analysis, this paper selects therepresentative industries in agriculture, industry, services in Gansu first, considers theindustry employment concentration, the level of industrial development, the incomegrowth level of the industry, industry growth potential and ecological environment asthe primary indicators. Then, according to the characteristics of agriculture, industry,services, this paper builds the secondary indicators to form a scientific and reasonableindex system. Afterwards, it collects data from years of2001to2011in therepresentative industries according to the index system, uses statistical analysissoftware SPSS19.0and automation software Microsoft Office Excel2007for dataprocessing and data analysis. It concludes that the industries with betterpeople-enriching benefits in Gansu are as follows: vegetable farming industry, potatofarming industry, herbal farming industry, wheat farming industry, pig breedingindustry, sheep breeding industry, cattle breeding industry, extraction of petroleumand natural gas, petroleum processing and coking, smelting and pressing of ferrousmetals, melting and pressing of nonferrous metals, building industry, transportationindustry, storage and postal services, accommodation and catering industry, real estate industry. It also discovers the strengths and weaknesses in these industries in theanalysis and proposes targeted countermeasures based on the strengths andweaknesses.
