In the complicated and variable market environment,only those companies who havea deep understanding of the external environment and make full use of theiradvantages could put themselves in a profitable position. The financial crisis of2008has a huge impact on the freight industry and freight forwarding companies. How toadapt to the changes in the external environment? How to face the competition in thesame industry? Those are the basement of the study of this paper. Firstly, a series ofanalysis of the market environment and industry development prospects should bedone. Then, the future development goals must be clarified; the business structuremust be adjusted; the business system must be improved. Finally, the strategicmeasures suitable for the development of the enterprises should be drawn up. Onlywhen the above policies have been imposed smoothly, can the enterprises grow up inthe crisis without being affected by the unfavorable factors from the internal andexternal environment.In order to adapt to the changes of the market environment and development ofenterprises and technology, some studies are done in the paper.Firstly, through the PEST analysis, the author deeply understands the macroenvironment where TSL Tianjin is surviving. The opportunities and threats are alsobeen identified. Secondly, through Porter’s five forces model, the author analyzes thefive forces TSL is facing. The five forces include, seller’s bargaining capability,buyer’s bargaining capability, potential enters’ threat, substitutes’ threat and thecompetition from the same industry that TSL is running in. Thirdly, through theanalysis of SWOT and SWOT strategic match, the author raises the developmentstrategy of TSL Tianjin, after locating TSL’s advantages and disadvantages. Finally,to ensure the efficient implementation of the strategy, the author raises somesuggestions and policies on the issues in the implementation of the strategy. Thesuggestions and policies are raised through following six aspects, accelerating thedevelopment of multimodal transport operations, actively expanding the field ofthird-party logistics, developing the logistics strategic alliance, marketing andcustomer service management, organizational restructuring and personnel training andconstruction of information technology and optimization of resources allocation.
