In today’s international competition, as the problem of resources andenvironment is getting prominent, there are new requirements put forward for theeconomic development of different regions. People have already changed theiropinion from only pursuing the growth of GDP to paying more attention tocomprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development between economy andsociety, from the one-sided pursuit of the rate of economic growth to the “PeopleOriented” development. This transformation also explains that the way of economicdevelopment has become a strategy of a country. At the same time, the comprehensivefactors of resources, environment, society and other aspects must be taken intoconsideration when one area is developing. After years of exploration, Weihai hasalready obtained a certain result in the transition of economic developmentpattern.Along with economic globalization and changes in international division oflabor, in order to grasp this opportunity, to ensure sound and rapid economic andsocial development, Weihai should base on their own to promote the transition ofeconomic development pattern.Therefore, this thesis aims to analyze the situation of the transition of economicgrowth pattern with an evaluation index system on the basis of definition of thetransition of economic development pattern of Weihai. Through analysis, the next stepis to summary present situation and existing problems in transformation. Finally, bycombining the relevant economic theory and the situation facing, a proper path will beproposed, several industries will be chosen and recommendations will be brought outin order to promote the economic development mode transformation of Weihai.
