Personalized manufacturing has been increasingly important with the promotion of 4.0 in industry, which makes great development of rapid prototyping technology. But the less study on three-dimensional scanner restricted promotion and application of 3D printing in public. The research on 3D scanner which has great and wide adaption for ambient light and scanned objects is lacking, and the foreign company has occupied the market that makes the price to be raised. So this article is aimed at developing a low-price, desktop laser 3D scanner which is face to public to accomplish the ‘copy’ of real objects under different environmental conditions. This scanner can be small, quick and convenient, and can be directly used for teaching demonstration.The scanning ability of 3D laser scanner depends on hardware and algorithm. The error model is established through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the influence caused by hardware condition to calculate final accuracy level. This error model provides a reference for platform designing. Meanwhile, a theoretical model is built based on the response to the light strip in different environments, and then verified in the experiment. Eventually according to the theoretical model build a three-dimensional laser scanner prototype.The desktop scanner needs to face real object with all kinds of colors, dynamic light, surface shape and surface properties which will change the light strip. So this article does research on the response of light stripe in different environment condition and finish the calibration through the extreme response, wave pocket energy and peak index. And analyzes the influence of light spot, laser speckle and low power light condition then proposes the solution. The data got in the experiment can be used in self-adjust light strip recognition algorithm.This thesis tests different light strip recognition algorithms in dynamic environment light condition, and analyses the strengths and shortcomings of different algorithms. According to the result of experiment, a new algorithm: peak-index way is put forward. And this thesis comprehends several factors’ influence on characteristic of light strip to evaluate the usability of different algorithm in diverse condition, then raises the evaluation matrix that can be used to achieve the comprehensive matching algorithm to recognize light strip more accurately. With the 3D laser scanner prototype, user can get 3D point cloud of real object by shooting video, then can obtain complete point cloud and 3D model.
