With the development of geographic information technology, computer technology and virtual reality technology, the 3D digital campus with roaming function has becoming the main development direction of digital campus. Roaming system of 3D digital campus builds the models which depends on the real size of each object, such as buildings and terrain in the real campus environment, lets the user experience landscape of the campus. By the roaming function of the campus roaming system, users can be free roaming, navigation roaming or query the information they need in the virtual campus according to their own will.At present the precision of campus model which is belong to the domestic 3D digital campus is low, and the function of roaming system is weak. Using the leica ScanStation C10 3D laser scanner to collect the cloud data of campus can greatly increase the speed of model building and improve the precision of model building. Use unity3 D engine to develop the roaming system development can improve the development efficiency. This paper, which regard the xi’an university of science and technology as the experience area, do the research to the point registration, denoising and segmentation of data cloud which are the key technologies of reconstruction of 3D digital campus. At the same time, the paper has carried on the design of three-dimensional digital campus roaming system, realized the free roaming and information query function, then used the atmospheric scattering theory and Perlin noise function to generate a sky which has real weather effects in the unity3 D, and finally realized the automatic pathfinding function with a method which is based on A* algorithm.This paper finished the work of most model reconstruction of three-dimensional digital campus of xi’an university of science and technology, and realized the free roaming and automatic pathfinding, had demonstration significance and reference value for the construction of three-dimensional digital community and three-dimensional digital city.
