With the rapid development of science and technology, the data growth rate far exceeds the ability of our current infrastructure development, and how to storage and analysis of data more efficient is a big problem. So far, however, IT companies mainly by means of the continuous expansion of the data center and cloud computing center to deal with these problems. Nevertheless, with the surge of massive data and dramatic increase in computing tasks, the development of electronic devices face the challenge of performance and manufacturing technology bottleneck. In recent years, with the emergence and realization of the memory element(such as memristor, memcapacitor and meminductor), solving these problems is possible. Memory element is a nano-scale, with memory function and the new nonlinear two-port circuit elements. It has great potential applications in non-volatile memory, LSI, artificial neural networks and chaotic circuit. Its appearance is expected to change the entire circuit theory.This paper makes the depth study of meminductor, which is one of the memory element. This article studies the various meminductor models and typical characteristics, investigates characteristics of meminductor combinational circuits. More specifically, the transient behaviors and the conditions to achieve the steady state are studied. Then, we combine meminductor with conventional electronics to build a simple chaotic circuits. Specific content is divided into the following four areas:(1) This paper studies piecewise linear model, electrical response model and electromechanical model of meminductor and its typical characteristics. In order to analyze and interpret the complicated characteristics of meminductor combinational circuits, this paper derives meminductor models with the initial state.(2) The equivalent meminductance formulas of meminductor combinational circuits with the initial state is derived. By numerical simulation, the characteristics of meminductor combinational circuits are studied, and we found meminductor combinational circuits will eventually reach a steady state of change through a transient state. Further, the transient characteristics of meminductor combinational circuits are analyzed in detail, and this paper makes a thorough analysis of the conditions to achieve a steady state of change. It solves the complex and unpredictable circuit characteristics problems caused by meminductor combinational circuits in the initial value of the individual meminductors of different or unknown.(3) Further, the circuit characteristics of meminductor combinational circuit in a steady state are study particularly. And, see the meminductor combinational circuit as a whole, through numerical simulation to study the relationship between the different circuit variables of meminductor combinational circuit in a steady state.(4) Because meminductor has good nonlinear characteristics, it can be used as the non-linear part of chaotic system. In this paper, we use meminductor and conventional capacitors, inductors, resistors to build a new chaotic circuit models. The paper derives its equation of state, makes the circuit simulations and gets a perfect chaotic attractor. By numerical theoretical analysis, computer simulation and the calculation of Lyapunov exponent, etc., the dynamic characteristics of the system are studied.
