We are in the 21 st century, which is an era of Internet of things. In the end of 20 th century, the Internet technology has been developed rapidly,modern communication technology and sensor technology is catching up,these are all forms the foundation of the Internet of things technology.In the entire Internet system, the object location information is very important.Therefore, wireless sensor networks as the basis of Internet of things, the positioning technology is one of the most important research topic.Now most localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks are limited to two dimensional space,But the wireless sensor network often used in three-dimensional space, such as oceans, forests, underground surveying, etc.So the three-dimensional space of wireless sensor network localization algorithm is more important,in this paper, three-dimensional localization algorithm for wireless sensor carried out research.I introduced the background of the subject and its current research at first,in seconed, describes the structure of wireless sensor networks and the characteristics of the ZigBee. And then from the selection of hardware, expatiates on how to set up for the network.In this paper, distance and location algorithm for wireless sensor network have carried on the thorough research.Ranging use the method of received signal strength indicator,the advantages of this method are that the cost is low because there are no additional equipment and with small error compared to other methods based on non-Ranging.Then the measured results are weighted processing,introduce a weighted approach based on the statistical value of median statistics in order to make the experiment error smaller, which can adapt to more complex environment.Then firefly algorithm proposed to locate the unknown node when positioning,after a lot of experiments and comparison,when eight anchor nodes locate the unknown node at the same time,each group has four anchor nodes and totally divided into eight groups,then take the average,which will obtain the best positioning effect,and its validity has been proved by matlab simulation.
