Most existing lighting control system use the cable network and all of them have the problems of poor mobility, complex construction and so on. Compared with the cable control mode, wireless control mode has the advantage of flexible layout, good mobility and low cost. In the wireless communication technology of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Zigbee, Zigbee technology has incomparable advantages in large-scale ad-hoc network, so it has been widely used in the intelligent lighting system.Routing algorithm is the key issues in the designing of Zigbee’s network layer. Modified tree routing algorithm improves the original tree routing in two aspects. Firstly, through the establishment of lateral connection way, it can solve the problem of network’s unbalanced energy distribution effectively. Sencondly, in the event of a broken branch, the modified tree routing algorithm repairs the broken branch by making them acess the tree in a whole which can effectively reduce the routing overhead.Based on the above design.this paper implements a set of wireless intelligent lighting system with improved Zigbee tree routing algorithm. The design of hardware includes coordinator and lamp control module, software is mainly developed for PC management, the protocol stack and task scheduling system. Experiments show that the system can control 50 lamp node, the maximum depth of lighting control network can reach 10 and it can implement 10 levels of adjustment to light. In addition, the system construction time is not more than 10s,packet loss rate is controlled within 5%.Compared to traditional Zigbee tree routing algorithm based system, this paper designs the system whose transmission delay can be reduced by 5%.
