The last decade has seen the sequential rise of consumer demands and market size in health monitors since the booming economy, the more serious people aging as well as the stronger self- care concept. Moreover, the medical system reform institution and community medical treatment mode, targeting at urban residents, are running in our country. This mode forces a new remote medical monitor, named multi-parameter remote monitoring system, to come to the world. This system brings a new hope for patients to make a real-time and flexible disease prevention, health diagnostic and clinic treatment.The contribution of this paper is to design a community-based multi-parameter remote monitoring system, which can also be spread to a small family. Where physiology parameters, including ECG, pulse and blood pressure, are continuously monitored for patients, having no time and place limit because of the Internet service. So it will be particularly appealing for middle aged and elderly people as well as housebound people.Biological detection, single chip technology, wireless communication techniques are planted in this system for parameter collection and close quarter signal transmission to client-side. The client-side software, designed by LabWindows/CVI platform, is mainly for display of electrocardio, pulse and blood pressure parameters, save and analysis of data as well as abnormity warning. It makes sure that the abnormal signal, which can urge supervisors to pay a timely attention and to cure accordingly, won’t be missed. In addition, the Internet utilizes the TCP/IP protocol to build a remote communication connection between client-side and server-side for high real-time, flexible warden service. And the medical record information management system is built in server-side, using database, to save patients’ fundamental information and health information. In this monitor, patients’health conditions can be long-term monitored since the database can save vast physiological parameter data. So it offers good data supporting and strong guarantee for disease prevention and health diagnostic.By consequence, the multi-parameter remote monitoring system, proposed in this thesis, will extend its tutelary range from the hospital to patients’ family because of the convenient network communication platform between nurses and invalids. It can meet the consumer demand of patients and effectively reduce the hospital load thus being appealing for the community medical treatment mode implementation.
