This paper proposes the Network Collaborative Data Link to solve the problem which belongs to traditional data links, such as lower data transmission rate, limited node number, lower flexibility and poorer survivability. In addition, this novel data link can enhance the information transmission speed, expand the network scale and simplify the network planning process, which is the future development direction of tactical data link. The data link layer, which can achieve data transmission, wireless channel access, route maintenance and other functions, is an important part of the Network Collaborative Data Link. A channel sharing scheduling mechanism can be provided by multiple access protocol to ensure that plurality of communication nodes will share the same radio channel resources fairly and efficiently, and what’s more, the multiple access protocol determines the node traffic and the network throughput. The Ad Hoc network architecture can be implemented by routing protocol, which discovers, manages, and uses multiple paths. At the same time, routing protocol will improve the dynamic network management capability, and be of paramount importance in the data link layer design. The paper mainly studies the data link layer protocol in the Network Collaborative Data Link, especially the design of multiple access protocol and routing protocol. Firstly, the paper introduces architecture, examples and characteristics of traditional data links, and the new characteristics of Network Collaborative Data Link. Secondly, by comparing multiple access protocols of traditional wireless network and typical data link, it can be seen that SPMA protocol has better performance. However, there are still some drawbacks in SPMA protocol. On the one hand, since SPMA claims that the channel occupancy statistic must be uploaded from the physical layer in real time, it will increase the difficulty of the application implement. On the other hand, the high delay is emerging when SPMA counts channel occupancy, and it will bring about the problem of reducing transmission success rate. This paper proposes two novel improved protocols, SPMA-NPS and TSMP-MAC, to solve these problems. Thirdly, by summarizing and researching on Ad Hoc network routing protocols, it can be decided to use OLSR protocol and AODV protocol asthe spare routing protocol of the Network Collaborative Data Link. Then, in order to evaluate the protocol performance, this paper erect overall simulation model, using OPNET simulation software, to achieve Network Collaborative Data Link simulation. Finally, using the control condition variables method, this paper simulate two multiple access protocols and routing protocols separately. By comparing the packet transmission success rate, packet access delay, routing protocol overhead, business transmission success rate, average end to end delay and average hops, TSMP-MAC protocol and OLSR protocol are chosen as multiple access protocol and routing protocol in Network Collaborative Data Link.
