Tactical Data Information Link (TDIL) is the data communication network which is built by wire or wireless communication equipment and data communication rules, and the system which is closely associated with data communication and computer control. It directly serves the command & control and weapon systems. The basic function of TDIL ensures that it exchanges information quickly among each pair of combat units, shares situation information, watches war situation in real time, enhances coordination ability and the whole war power. Tactical Data Link (TDL) plays an important role in the modern war, whose development is one of the important signs in the information warfare. The application of Data Link affects on the ability and the level of the information warfare to a great extent. TDIL is the representative application of data communications in military affairs, which adoptes communication network technology to achieve new type data exchange among air Platform, army and navy. So the key of Data Link system is to research network protocol. The hard-core content of TDILP (Tactical Data Information Link Protocol) is deal with that the network member how to effectively and fairly impropriate the wireless channel in the TDIL system. Therefore, the network protocol modeling is adapt to realize on MAC layer, and establish the new protocol model. The TDIL/MAC layer model is founded below QualNet simulation software. According to the established model, it can compile TDIL/MAC layer program, and connect the superstratum (network layer) with the substrate (physics layer) to simulate all the systems.Modeling and simulation of TDIL system is introduced in this dissertation. After a lot of simulation experiments, the general system performances such as network capacity, network cycle time, system response time, MAC end-to-end delay and the interdependence of them are obtained. Some factors which influence these performances are researched and analyzed by simulation in the current dissertation. We research and contrast the general system performances between Polling Protocol and TDMA protocol.
