With the advent of the era of IoT(Internet of Things), a large number of objects have been connecting connected to the Internet. In recent years, IP-based WSN(wireless sensor networks) has become a hot research at home and abroad. 6LoWPAN(IPv6 over low power WPAN) is a combination of IEEE802.15.4 and IPv6 techniques to form a new IP-based WSN protocols. However, the current technology of is not yet mature, this research focuses on 6LoWPAN protocol optimization and implement a platform of WSN applications based on 6LoWPAN, it aims to provide a reference for WSN technology.Currently, the non-IP-based protocols technology are widely used in WSN, these network nodes can not directly access the IP-based Internet, it is impossible to achieve interoperability requirements of IoT.First of all, the deficiencies of current 6LoWPAN protocol exists to optimize and improve, as follows:(1) The present scheme of header compression LOWPAN_HC1 on the adaptation layer is improved by short address mapping compressed header compression scheme based LOWPAN_HC1 to reduce the header overhead and improve the efficiency of data transmission;(2) Routing discovery uses the flooding broadcast analog multicast messages in6 LoWPAN Neighbor Discovery, the Dynamic Routing Algorithm is introducted to optimize multicast process of routing message RS/RA and to reduce consumption of energy in the Neighbor Discovery;(3) The improvement of existing 6LoWPAN mobile technology is adoption of improved FHMIPv6 technology to decrease the proxy communication messages between move nodes and move access routers, so that it reduced latency and energy consumption in the mobility handover process of nodes.Then, on the basis of optimizating and improving 6LoWPAN, we design a6 LoWPAN WSN application platform which includes star 6LoWPAN networks and embedded gateway as well as their hardware and software. The 6LoWPAN star networkis for communication and networking capability; The embedded gateway achieves connection between 6LoWPAN network and the Internet, and implements real-time and remote monitoring function.Finally, by optimized 6LoWAN protocol test and wireless sensor network application platform test ensure the realitity and reliability of the platform.
