TDI image sensor is the most critical components in the high-resolution Earth observation camera. TDI image sensor is a special class of linear image sensor which achieves linear array using a surface array form. By relatively moving object repeated exposure and signal accumulation, it can achieve high performance image. Compared with ordinary linear image sensor, TDI image sensor has a high sensitivity, high signal to noise ratio, etc. Therefore it has important applications in space remote control, aerial photography, machine vision imaging, industrial measurement and control, spectral and chromatographic detection and analysis, medical X-ray imaging and other fields. The paper researches TDI-CMOS imaging system development test based on FPGA. By push-broom imaging modalities, the camera achieves the target imaging. Build a test platform for cameras and TDI-CMOS performance parameters tested.In this paper, using research institution in china first developed TDI-CMOS image sensor as our study target, depth understanding the principles of the TDI-CMOS imaging camera. Using this chip and Altera FPGA as core builds a camera platform. The main contents are as follows:1. Introduce the background and significance of TDI-CMOS image sensor. And understand the present situation of development.2. Proposed TDI-CMOS camera design based on the current widespread used the CMOS camera program. Through analyzing the key technologies such as acquisition, control, storage and transport and comparing specific device type, determine the TDI-CMOS + FPGA + USB + Camera Link system design.3. Selected Altera’s FPGA and TDI-CMOS chip builds a hardware imaging system. We describe the hardware design of each module in detail, including TDI-CMOS image acquisition system module, FPGA control module, USB Interface Module and Camera Link interface module. And based on the high-speed signals requirement, complete PCB design system.4. Image data output module and command input module simulated. TDI-CMOS performance parameters tested.The experimental results show that TDI-CMOS camera hardware platform is stable. And it promotes the development of the next TDI-CMOS image sensor.
