Abstract/Summary:
Laboratory is an important place for teaching and scientific research in universities.Experimental equipment is an important part of the laboratory. At present, more and more colleges pay great attention to practice teaching, the construction scale of laboratory is expanding, the experimental equipment is changing rapidly, and the management and use of the equipment bring some problems to the managers of laboratory. For example, the stutus of experimental equipment cannot be obtained in real-time and precisely by using statistics;laboratory resources allocation still has room to optimize; laboratory opening and sharing need to improve; and the development of virtual experiment teaching is to be pended.Therefore, in view of the above situations, each university needs a laboratory management system according to its tailored requirements.This paper is based on the need of the mechanical laboratory management of Guangzhou College, South China University of Technology, using the LabVIEW software platform,RFID(Frequency Identification Radio), and database software MySQL to develop a comprehensive laboratory management system, which integrates laboratory resources,laboratory equipment, and virtual experiment as a whole.In this paper, the laboratory management system is developed on the characteristics of the college laboratory management, the functional requirements of the current laboratory management system are described, the system interfaces and procedures are designed in the LabVIEW, and the integration system framework with RFID hardware is built by using database software MySQL for system data management and optimization. The system combines the actual situation of the University.A modular approach is used to develop the system with good scalability, each module can be run independently, and can also be integrated as part of a big system with the convenience of maintenance and further development. The system runs stable, which provides a good solution to the existing problems in the fields such as the management of materials, the use of equipment, the management of experimental teaching and management in laboratories,and provides a strong support to the subject construction and laboratory construction in the college.
