With the progress of our ages, the development of mobile communication technology are growning very fast. In recently years, the mobile communication technology has been developed from analog to digital, from 2G to 3G, 4G. The development of the mobile communication and Internet is changing our daily lives.On the other hand, comparing with the development of mobile communication, the work mode of geological industry is still use the method of 1980 s which has low efficiency of data transmission and high delay. It seriously hinder the developmentof the work efficient of the geological industry.In order to improve the transmission efficiency of data collection in the wild field and change the situation of field geological work, we design and realize a data collection system in the wild field. The data collection system use the Android operating system and combine the advanced technologys, such as mobile communication technology and the GIS technology. The system can realize the functions of user management, data collection, data storage and data transmission by using mobile communication. It successfully replaced the previous paper data entry form and improved data accuracy. Based on the mobile communications, this system can realize the function of real-time data upload and download, the work of data collection in the wild field can be simplified and more efficient. Finally, this system is tested in Chizhou, Anhui Province. By various testing, we can find that all the function modules can be used correctly and achieved the expected results.
