As the fossil energy crisis and pollution problems caused by energy development continuously emerging, wind and solar power as clean renewable energy, will become the main energy in the future. As the wind power and solar energy is sufficent in our country, we are vigorously promoting the construction of large-scale wind farm and photovoltaic power station.Large-scale wind farm and photovoltaic power station connected to the electricity grid brings great challenge on the stability of power grid security. It is the most concern and urgent to be solved that the problem of reactive power control and voltage control attracted by grid connected wind farm and photovoltaic power. So, in the planning and construction stages, it is necessary to accurately calculate the reactive power compensation capacity of wind farm and photovoltaic power station. The reactive power capacity should not only satisfy the requirement of the net, but also satisfy the requirement of economy. Nowadays during reactive capacity planning, due to the manual calculation, there is a lot of work completed by artificial. It not only requires a lot of energy, but also easily makes mistakes. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a software to caculate the capacity.This paper, in view of the exsiting problems in caculation of reactive power planning,analyzed the research status of reactive power control strategy in wind farm and photovoltaic power station. Based on the theory of reactive power compensation configuration of wind farm and photovoltaic power station,combining multiple project experiences, this paper proposed the basic network topology analysis and power flow calculation method. Based on Visual C++.this paper developed a reactive capacity planning software suitable for large-scale wind farm and photovoltaic power station, implemented the calculation function of reactive power capacity,and verified the validity and accuracy using the actual data of wind farm and photovoltaic power station.The content and achievement of this paper has important practical significance in reactive power configuration of wind farm and Photovoltaic power station.
