Evaluation Of Paper’s Innovation Based On The Research Level

The research of bibliometrics has been focusing on how to evaluate academic paper’s innovation which used to be one of the main scholarly outcomes. By evaluating academic paper’s innovation can predict the science events which will have a significant impact on science in the future, thus contributing to relevant research management institutions to develop effective policy of science, relevant research institutions and scholars engaged in frontier research more appropriately, thus promoting the development of science and technology effectively.Now there are two major categories of academic paper’s innovation evaluation:(1)quantitative evaluation method based on citation analysis,(2)qualitative evaluation method peer review as the main content. Traditional citation analysis method uses a variety of external indicators to evaluate academic paper’s innovation, but, these indicators are loose or not directly binding to the concepts and semantic properties of the significant potential innovation themes, ignoring the understanding of large number real text data of the overall content, can’t fully reflect the innovation value of academic paper. With the development of information technology, makes it possible to automatically evaluate paper’s innovation based on the research level.This paper mainly uses nature language processing technology to evaluate paper’s innovation from the perspective of paper’s research level. The main contents include three parts:(1)Survey the recent research progress of paper’s innovation evaluation methods.(2)Present a method to evaluate paper’s innovation based on the performance comparing. Firstly, using rule extraction technology to extract sentences which have research level information from the paper, then, constructing regular expression to extract numerical information accurately which represents the research level of paper, lastly, through comparative analysis of the extracted numerical information and then determine the level of paper’s innovation.(3)Present a method to evaluate paper’s innovation based on the research theme comparing. Firstly, using keygraph algorithms to extract keywords which represent paper’s theme, then, calculate the similarity of the research theme and the scientific research front theme, lastly, present a comprehensive model to determine the level of paper’s innovation combine the journal reputation and altmetrics two external indicators.Experimental results show, the method to evaluate paper’s innovation based on the performance comparing and method to evaluate paper’s innovation based on the research theme comparing can evaluate paper’s innovation from the perspective of paper’s content effectively, rapidly and accurately, helping researchers to grasp the paper which have a high academic level and innovation timely.
