The new media has experienced the period from embryo-tic appearance to maturity since2007 till now. The paper choose 5 PX events as the specific examples happened in Xiamen,Dalian, Ningbo, Kunming, Maoming timing fitted with new media development period from PX series event. Analysis the change and characteristic of group event in different new media period. The paper summarized that with the development of new media, group event’s platform transfer from BBS to microblog, public attitude transfer from silent to boil over, struggle objects transfer from pointed to blindness according to the comparison of different period.What’s more,group events started with spreading information by new media,protest tend to be a performance model, public mood tend to be irritation. Based on these changes and characteristics,author try to clarify the dilemma of solving group events under the new media background and provide the effective suggestion according to the dilemma.
