With the rapid development of computer technology and information technology, people’s lives become more and more intelligent. The proposed "smart city", "intelligent transportation" and other concepts are inseparable from the rapid development of embedded technology. And the application and development of embedded technology has become the hot industry of current society. However, the vast majority of embedded programming languages are C or C++ language which based on the text programmatically. On one hand, this programming approach requires the programmers have higher programming ability. On the other hand, it needs more time and inefficiency in the development of a project. For these reasons, the engineers have become more and more likely using the method of embedded development which based on LabVIEW, which is one of graphical programming language. Because NI company does not own the embedded development hardware platform which based on LabVIEW, this article focuses on the LabVIEW for ARM embedded technology development methods. In this way, LabVIEW can be ported to various ARM chips optionally, and then the engineer can use the graphical programming language for embedded development.Firstly, this paper analyzes the background and significance of the development of virtual instrument and LabVIEW for ARM Embedded transplant. And then reviewed the related information which ported LabVIEW to ARM chip, studying on the LabVIEW embedded module development toolkit and its software architecture, researching and summarizing the LabVIEW file structure carefully, refering to the relevant information of STM32 chip. Finally, the paper puts forward the concrete scheme of transplant LabVIEW2012 to STM32 chip, and the subsequent method of embedded development. The article presents a new method, describes the transplant process and the development method in detail which based on the STM32F107 chip hardware development board. Mainly including the new method of integrating the tool chain between LabVIEW and Keil, modifying Keil uVison project files, create GPIO pin Elemental I/O nodes, etc. What’s more, it also involves a variety of configuration file modified and rewrite work, and development process of embedded hardware function.This article attempts to put forward the embedded development ideas and processes of LabVIEW for ARM through the introduction of how transplant LabVIEW to STM32F107VC chip, and this will provide more help to the developer.
