| This paper mainly studies the journalist image presented in the American movies. Though news report, journalists have been constructed a variety of images. But how to be constructed its own image? This paper, through the analysis of the three movies, can be concluded that under the different periods there appeared in all kinds of reporter’s images in the film in the United States, deeply analyze the composition of the image elements, and reveal the interactive relationship between social reasons of cinema construction reporter image and the media.This paper regards the text analysis as the main research path. Film is an audio-visual language; meanwhile, it exists as a kind of text. Sound, light, picture and image are the elements of the text in order to deeply analyze the social significance of film and television text. This paper will be in accordance with the relevant theories of semiotics, thought the signifier which is presented by the film about journalists’ image; we can analyze the signified behind it. Thus, it will realize the interactive reference between movie and society. This paper is divided into four chapters, and the first three chapters are paratactic structure. Each chapter chooses one movie, analyzes the film text, and then concludes the type of the journalists’ image which is constructed by movies. At last, according to movie content, we could connect the social background and the development status of journalism and then we could give the interpretation of cause and effect of the film this journalist’s image. The fourth part focuses on the interactive relations between movie and journalism.By analysis, it was found that film constructs three kinds of journalist image: personal myth maker, social revelers manipulator and the pursuit of the truth, these three different types of journalists’image. What’s more, these three images presented by the movie had some connection with the background. Real journalism continuously provides film material for movies, in turn; movie examines the distress and development of journalism. Journalistic professionalism has been always the main clue to the development of journalism in the American society, and film vividly shows the clue and in the perspective of media criticism to survey the development of journalism. In a word, movies and news mutually reinforce and both show a harmonious coexistence. |
