Industry 4.0 put forward in Germany marks the coming of the fourth industrial revolution dominated by intelligent manufacturing, which makes a huge impact on the development of the control system of tobacco machine equipment. As the application of technics such as human-computer interaction system, expert system, and remote monitoring and operation of equipment, tobacco machine equipment not only realizes the automation but also begins to develop in the direction of intelligence. Taking the control system of tobacco machine equipment as the research object, based on the unified electronic control platform proposed by Tobacco Technology Center, combining control technique of PC and communication technique of Ether CAT, the author explores the control system of tobacco machine equipment by rapid prototyping model, which builds a solid foundation for accelerating the process of research and development of unified electronic control platform and realizing the intelligence of control system.Firstly, the author summarizes the research status and development trend of control system, analyzes the structure of control system of tobacco machine equipment at home and abroad, and introduces the unified electronic control platform which was proposed by Tobacco Technology Center.Then, according to the technical requirements of the unified electronic control platform and control functional requirements of tobacco machinery equipment, control system uses the structure of "IPC + embedded PC", which means upper computer adopts single IPC, and motion controller adopts embedded PC by German BECKHOFF Company. At the same time, in light of real-time requirements, the function of the system is divided into upper computer management module and lower computer control module.Hardware is the carrier of system function realization. Upper computer, main controller, communication module and I/O unit are major components of control system. To achieve the function of the system, the author determines the overall hardware framework of control system, designs the main function module of control system, and defines the communication method between the devices on the comparison analysis of principles and performances of typical industry real-time Ethernet techniques.The author analyzes and tests the principles of upper computer and Twin CAT Soft PLC, upper computer and Oracle database, writes the PLC control program of lower computer using upper computer management module of control system by VC++, including software architecture, human-computer interaction system, part of the realization of the function interface, etc. The specialized database is used in control system to achieve data storage, analysis and processing.Finally, on the basis of laboratory hardware platform, the author carries out servo motor control experiment, temperature control experiment and database communication experiment, which verify the control system in this paper can meet the functional requirements of the servo motor control, the I/O terminals of input and output control, and database communication.
