This thesis describes design and implementation of a monitoring, warning and automatic regulating system which has intelligence and universality for the indoor environmental quality. This aims to help monitor and regulate the indoor environment in time, ensure the security and stability of that and make daily life more convenient.The system caters the trend of intelligent hardware and mobile internet, it also combines the theories of IR waveform storage and closed-loop control based on MCU, wireless communication and GSM/GPRS technology. It includes 6 subsystems:1. data processing and central control subsystem,2. outdoor environmental quality monitoring subsystem,3. kitchen environmental quality monitoring subsystem,4. household leaving/returning monitoring subsystem,5. infrared signal transmitting subsystem and 6. window control subsystem.It is smart and compatible, can monitor various parameters of environmental quality and control several appliances which may interfere the indoor environment to regulate the across-the-board environmental concern and automatically ensure the home’s safety. It is connected to the Internet and can be controlled remotely by any kind of mobile devices via Wechat APP which can also be used to monitor parameters of environmental quality remotely, so these appliances can be controlled remotely by users’mobile devices like iPhone or iPad. What’s more to expect is that it has the function of voice recognition, for people with visual impairment. It also has the ability to learn, store, reproduce, and transmit IR signals arid control all kinds of appliances that can be controlled by IR.This thesis introduces the background of this project, general R&D plan and main R&D tasks, essentially. Then the principles and functions of each subsystem, and hardware and software design were introduced according to the design requirements of embedded systems, and the test results were described. The experimental results indicated that this system achieved the expected goals.This system can effectively reduce the difficulty to regulate the indoor environmental quality, and make users to conform in an easier and timely manner. It can ensure the security of environment and keep users away from the unhealthy surroundings. It can be applied to other occasions after the functions are modified and extended, so it has a certain research and practical value.
