Smart home is put the home as a platform, which uses automated control technology, network communication technology, audio and video technology in order to build a living environment with high efficiency, safety, convenience, comfort, health, energy saving, green and environmental protection. Smart home monitoring system is an important part of smart home system. It can realize the real-time monitoring and effective control for the household environment. The early Smart home monitoring system used the ways of wired communications and on-site alarm. With the continuous development of science and technology, telephone lines and GSM networks were used to monitor remotely, while these methods still can not achieve real-time and reliable monitor.Wireless sensor network as a product which combine computing, communication, and sensor technology. It enhances the ability for human to acquire and transmit and process the information. Wireless sensor network technology is applied to smart home monitoring system in order to obtain data in a household environment and to control household equipment, which changes the way using wire in the traditional monitoring system. The National Instruments has done very well in wireless sensor network product, the sensor node is simple and easy to use, reliable, cost-effective, low power consumption. Smart home monitoring system based on Wireless sensor network product of NI company products will realize intelligent, modular, practical and simple function, which realizes to control household environment remotely and reliably.The research content in this paper includes mainly the following aspects:1. Hardware platform arc built based on the NI wireless sensor network. Select the appropriate electromagnetic valve, wireless communication module, power supply management module and sensor such as infrared, gases and temperature and humidity. Electromagnetic valve, the information collection and circuit design of wireless transmission unit for the five subsystems are completed that are security monitoring system, fire monitoring system, the harmful gas monitor system, environmental comfort level monitoring and control system and intelligent lighting system.2. The software design of smart home monitoring and control system. Visual interface programming design has been finished using LabVIEW software under the Windows development environment, it realize the function of data collection, processing, transmission and control and so on. Visualizations of node control function and facilitation of group management are realized, and the remote control is carried out.3. The reasonable layout of sensors and nodes. Combined with residential space environment and the optimization algorithm of designing node layout, sensors and nodes are laid out reasonably, optimization of wireless sensor node path distribution and minimum of node’s number have been realized.4. Multiple sensor data fusion technology. Support Vector Machine intelligent algorithm is used, fire monitoring subsystem, for example, through data fusion in the fire monitoring system collecting variety of information such as temperature, smoke and fire, the accuracy and the reliability are improved in the system.The smart home monitoring system uses NI wireless sensor network as a hardware platform, which can monitor steal, fire, harmful gases, comfortable degree of human body and lighting conditions, It chooses temperature, humidity, light, flame and infrared and smoke six kind of sensors. The corresponding control circuit has been designed, and it uses the LabVIEW software programming at man-machine interface. The system further combines with support vector intelligent optimal algorithm to software, and then the household environmental can be monitored remotely and intelligently. The experimental results show that the system has real-time, effectiveness and reliability.
